& Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the 'Adelaide Film Contest'. The competition is run by StudyAdelaide in conjunction with The University of Adelaide and The University of South Australia . The competition commences on 16th May 2011 and ends on 31st July 2011 at 23:59hrs Adelaide time.

Participation:

The competition is open to all persons over 18 years old, residing in Germany and studying an undergraduate degree at a German university at the time of travel to Australia. Entrants must also meet the entry requirements of the university they wish to study at.

The Competition:

The competition is accessible via a microsite and will be promoted through the following websites: www.StudyAdelaide.com, www.unisa.edu.au/international, www.international.adelaide.edu.au, www.gostralia.de and www.ieconline.de

The participant takes note of the instructions before entering the contest.

Participant is required to fill an entry form with mandatory fields: First name, Last name, Email address, Phone number, and information about the course they are currently studying. By providing his/her email address, participant agrees to be contacted by an education agents based in Germany regarding Study Abroad opportunities at Adelaide's universities.

Once registration is complete, participant can provide the youtube link or upload a video about why they would like to study in Adelaide. The video cannot be more than three minutes long and all dialogue must be in English.

Participant is required to upload the video either in flv , mov , mp4 or avi format and the maximum size for the video can be 25MB.

Your End of the Bargain

By entering this competition, the two lucky winners agree to the following:

  • Recording a three minute video about your study/travel experiences in Adelaide per month (4 in total). Videos to be submitted to StudyAdelaide for posting on various web and social media platforms.
  • Writing of four blog posts of a minimum of 300 words per month (4 in total) to be submitted to StudyAdelaide for posting on various web and social media platforms.
  • Posting of above mentioned videos and blogs on your own personal Facebook, YouTube and blog sites - if you have them.
  • The two winners assign the rights to all materials created by the winners to the host institutions and Education Adelaide.

Authorized entries:

Incomplete or incorrect registration will not be considered and will render participation null and void.

Selecting the winners:

The two winning entries will be selected using a combination of the following evaluation criteria.

  • Number of downloads
  • Number of likes/votes
  • A jury panel comprising representatives from Education Adelaide, The University of Adelaide and UniSA to judge the best entries

Public voting is open from 16th May until 31 July 2011 (23.59hrs) Adelaide time. Each viewer is entitled to 1 vote only.

Announcement of Winners

The two winners will be announced at 12:00hrs on Thursday 4th August 2011 on the StudyAdelaide website and Facebook page. Winners will also be contacted by telephone. StudyAdelaide is authorized to select another winner if he/she does not respond within 48 hours. In such a case the rights of the previously picked winner expire.

Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time they enter the competition. Education Adelaide reserves the right to request written proof of a possible winner's residence and age before awarding a prize.

Every vote will be monitored for fraudulent IP Activity. Education Adelaide reserves complete discretion to disqualify any such entries without assigning any reasons or explanations whatsoever, and if necessary escalate such issues to the relevant legal authorities.

The Prizes:

  • A FREE semester of Study Abroad tuition (16 Weeks) at The University of Adelaide worth € 5,500. Return airfares from Germany to Australia worth € 1,200 (to be taken within 12 months).
  • A FREE semester of Study Abroad tuition at The University of South Australia worth € 5,500 and return Airfares from Germany to Australia worth € 1,200 (to be taken within 12 months).

All prizes are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be redeemed by other persons. Prize winners must meet university entrance requirements for Study Abroad.

Winners must be free to travel and take up Study Abroad places at The University of South Australia or The University of Adelaide on the following dates:

Semester 1, 27th February 2012

Semester 2, 23rd July 2012

Miscellaneous:

  • StudyAdelaide has the right to reject entries that do not meet these Terms and Conditions.
  • StudyAdelaide cannot be held responsible for problems with the network, computer hardware or software, or any breakdown or failure that results in the Participant's entry form or any other information becoming incomplete, damaged or lost.
  • By entering the competition, participants automatically accept these Terms and Conditions.
  • All decisions made by StudyAdelaide regarding this competition shall be considered final; no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The prize winner is responsible for all costs and other expenses that are not explicitly included in or connected to the prize, and agrees that upon accepting the prize he/she does so entirely at his/her own risk and responsibility
  • The name and e-mail address listed on the entry are considered to be the participant number for this competition.
  • Each participant is entitled to one (1) participation and submit 1 entry.
  • StudyAdelaide will retain all data provided by participants.
  • StudyAdelaide reserves the right to disqualify entries that it suspects of being fraudulent.
  • StudyAdelaide reserves the right to amend or cancel the Terms and Conditions, prizes, definitions or other information at any point during the Term of the Competition and to do so without any form of notice whatsoever.

Get votes for your Video

The participant can invite his/her friends to participate in the competition at the end of the entry submission. In order to satisfy participation and accounting conditions, the email addresses of the participant's friends communicated to the organizer must be valid and different from one another. The participant furthermore commits to having obtained the permission of their holders for this communication, its use by the organizer to send emails, in the name of and for the account of the participant, and to inviting the friend(s) one time only to participate in the competition. With this commitment, the participant rids the organizer of any responsibility for the communication of these email addresses.

The aim of the game is to get as many people to view and vote for your video to be in with a chance of winning a free semester of Study Abroad tuition Down Under. Here are some suggestions of how you might achieve this:
